| There are cat cafés, bunny cafés, and other small animal cafes in Japan. But recently, there are also owl cafes springing up around the city centers. Owls are raised to be friendly towards humans so that café customers can touch and pet them. They say touching these fluffy creatures can be soothing and enjoyable for us. |
I am greatly intrigued by how Japanese people mix seemingly unrelated ideas and turn them into something trendy! Like for instance, the rise of the novelty cafes all over Japan ; from a futuristic planetarium, to the traditional rakugo and even the pop phenomena that is AKB48! …. wow! I am a coffee lover myself, and what a better way to enjoy a cup than to do something exciting on the side? Perhaps this owl café is a good idea. It might be a nice way to break the monotony of living in a busy city and try to be one with nature even for a little while . I imagine myself cuddling these adorable creatures after a very long day while sipping coffee …….it’s so appealing!
